Art A Brief History Essay Example For Students

Craftsmanship A Brief History Essay French Realism was predominately an aftereffect of incredible political and social disturbance. We can go back to 1848 as the chief time of Realism. The upheaval in France drove numerous specialists to investigate introducing encounters of the existence that was around them. This included numerous works of art of poor and normal individuals, who were not the normal subject of past specialists. Authenticity and Naturalism was a thought of communicating the real world around them. This was immediately grasped by different nations including the United States and Russia. Authenticity was against the prior ideas of Romanticism and Neoclassicism and was bolstered by the view and conviction of logical strategies. By the mid 1860s, Edouard Manet turned into the informal pioneer of a gathering of craftsmen which would take the French Realists custom to another level. These craftsmen known as Impressionists painted open air pictures, for example, wide open spaces, and such with an end goal to record the impacts of light and condition. This is the period wherein nature and the truth of its hues got predominant. As I would like to think, the thought of reality changes from a real perspective on what is seen (Realism) towards a picture which contains the specialists sentiments and feelings (Impressionism). Impressionism appears to maneuver you into the scene, to cause you to feel as though you are glancing in rather than at the picture. Post-Impressionism was on expansion of Impressionism however contrasted in, for example, to use progressively geometric shapes, misshape structure for expressive impact and utilize unnatural hues. The greater part of the Post-Impressionism craftsmen were really from the Impressionist time frame. These craftsmen deserted their work of art so as to make a progressively close to home workmanship. I feel that these specialists were attempting to discover better approaches to communicate without being confined of the past styles in front of them. I believe that during this season of creative advancement, numerous incredible steps were made so as to show ones internal identity through aesthetic articulation. The craftsman which most dazzles me is E'douard Manet. He has tremendous artistic creations yet beside that, there were numerous questionable issues about him. His compositions appear to not simply recount to a story or give a little data but instead bait one in to investigate what was seen whatever was being felt. There appear to be a more profound progressively self investigating factor inside his work. I accept he was the person who drove the Impressionism ways and begin making craftsmanship in an unexpected way.

Teenagers Replacing Drugs with Smartphones †MyAssignmenthelp.com

Question: Are Teenagers Replacing Drugs with Smartphones. Answer: Intelligent Essay All over my life, I have done various readings and compositions, and I can view myself as talented and with the ability of creating a bit of composing that is clear, brief and enchanting. My composing aptitudes have been molded by my capacity to understand books, papers and different bits of compositions that have been created using acceptable and perfect English. In this intelligent exposition, I try to examine the reasons that made me to pick the article, and the strategy that I used to pick the article viable. Furthermore, this intelligent paper contains data on the components that inspired me to think of the antiquity in the recorded way. This paper likewise analyzes the difficulties confronted while reproducing the abilities work out, and the advantage got from this activity, according to the obtaining and advancement of my exploration aptitudes. At long last, this intelligent exposition will take a gander at how the exploration antiquity helped in improving my legitimate resear ch abilities. The significant contention of this intelligent exercise is that the examination curio was a powerful technique for improving my exploration and scientific aptitudes, since it expected me to complete an examination and search for articles that fulfill the three components of good composition, which are succinctness, appeal and clearness. During the way toward picking an article to dissect, there were various article sources that I could look over. These incorporate articles from diaries, paper sources, for example, the Washington Post, digital books and the New York Times. In light of the trouble in getting succinctly and obviously composed articles from diaries and digital books, I needed to depend on online sources. I decide to depend on the New York Times, and this is essentially a direct result of the nature of their compositions, and the simplicity of getting enough articles that are of high caliber and elegantly composed. Before picking an article that could go about as my ancient rarity, I needed to pick a subject. In light of my encounters on medications and medication misuse, I chose to pick a point on drugs. I have lost various companions because of the maltreatment of medications; henceforth I know the negative impacts that, for example, action can have to the general public. It depends on this reality tha t I picked an article on drugs, and utilized watchwords, for example, medications and youth, medications and innovation, impacts of medications, how to decrease sedate maltreatment among the young. Clearly, there were an enormous number of articles that exuded from this inquiry, yet my emphasis was on this article by Matt Richtel as a result of the way which he clarifies how medication misuse can be decreased using cell phones. This was another idea to me, since I was unable to envision that cell phones can assume a job in the decrease of medication misuse. It depends on these components that I had the option to pick the article by Matt Richtel. In addition, I depended on the initial two passages in light of the dialects the creator used to communicate his thoughts. He presents the subject in the main sentence, and uses a colon to present a free provision, that expands upon the primary sentence. In my view, this was a magnificent method of presenting the theme and grabbing the eye of the peruser. Regardless of picking this article for the curio work out, there were various difficulties confronted, during the procedure of abilities re-creation. For example, the article included short passages that made it hard to dissect it, as far as succinctness, clearness and appeal. The greater part of the passages involved around a few sentences, and this made it hard to recognize all the three components in a similar section. Be that as it may, the writer of this article was exceptionally proficient, since he utilized straightforward language, and was immediate while clarifying his thoughts. Using a basic language, it was anything but difficult to distinguish the components of appeal, brevity and lucidity in the composition. In spite of the presence of these difficulties, this procedure gave me a positive involvement with terms of building up my exploration aptitudes. Above all else, this experience helped me to enhance my ability of using sound judgment on the sort of material assets to utilize, and data to gather. Moreover, this is a procedure that improved my capacity to utilize search or watchwords in searching for the data that I need. In the ebb and flow time of the hunt media, for example, Google, Yahoo and Bing, abilities in the utilization of search and catchphrases is basic, in guaranteeing the accomplishment of an analyst to get the important and right materials for his work. Also, by the recognizable proof of explicit components of compact, lucidity and appeal in this article, I figured out how to build up an expository expertise, which is a significant component of good research aptitudes. Clearly, one of the aptitudes gained from this activity is information assortment and basic reasoning abilities. These are significant abilities in legitimate research, essentially in light of the fact that the necessity of lawful experts to gather information on various custom-based law standards, decisions and lawful specialists about specific cases, and apply them on a case they mean to unravel. Also, this activity improved my thinking and critical thinking aptitudes, which are significant components of an expertise in legitimate research. Without the ability of taking care of issues, it will be hard for a lawful expert to distinguish the arrangement of the issue, while doing an examination. At long last, this procedure was a triumph to me, as a result of the exercises got the hang of during the procedure of information assortment. For example, the utilization of watchwords is a significant component of research, as it will decide the sort and nature of articles the scientist gets. For example, in this task, catchphrases, for example, medicate misuse, youth and medication misuse were utilized to distinguish the article. Besides, through this exploration, I had the option to improve my lawful research aptitudes, and these incorporate the critical thinking abilities, basic reasoning and information assortment aptitudes. Clearly, without the capacity to gather information, a legitimate proficient will fail. The expert will likewise require basic reasoning aptitudes that will assist him with investigating the information, and discover an answer for a specific case. Every one of these aptitudes were exhibited through the relic work out. List of sources Richtel, Matt, Are Teenagers Replacing Drugs With Smartphones? The New York Times. Barker Engineering Library

Barker Engineering Library What Ive noticed is that being an Admissions Blogger has turned me into a perpetual tourist. Thats not so bad, I guess, because I fit right in here. Not a day goes by when I am not absorbed by a mass of tourists with cameras, taking pictures of the most random, well, crap, that Ive ever seen. Pictures that Ive seen taken include pictures of a wall, of a bulletin board, of a garbage can, of a ceiling, of a vent, and of a door. Im all for taking pictures, even having taken many stupid ones myself (especially during CPW) but sometimes it gets ridiculous. When Im late to class because 30 people are taking a picture of a paper tree in lobby 10 then I start to get angry. Be smart, take a picture of the tree when people arent trying to get to class. I now try to be more refined in my photography, taking pictures of things that matter and of things that not everybody gets to see. So, without further delay, Id like to talk to you about the Barker Engineering Library, where sound goes to die. MIT has this dome Its a famous dome, and if youve never heard of it then do a google search, I dont have quite enough time to tell you everything about it. Anyway, inside this dome is a library, known as the Barker Engineering Library. Its one of MITs several libraries and it is one of the more frequented. Funnily enough, it is not normally frequented because people need books. I know Ive never gone there for books. I go there because its a great place to study. The reading room in the library is the inside of the dome, meaning its round and very open. It is encircled by study-desk-things that are perfect for setting up shop and spending several hours buried in differential equations. Thats what I did yesterday, and this is what you could have seen if you had visited: Heres a view along the wall of the reading room, you can see how the desks are tucked away and private (that brown thing to the right isnt a desk, nor is the table. Theres a girl sitting at one of the desks and then one farther away up against the wall). On a quick side note, Ive noticed that a lot of people on tours love to take pictures inside MITs other dome in lobby 7. Ive always assumed that those pictures would be pretty boring and stupid but have never actually taken the opportunity to test my hypothesis. For everybody out there who is planning on visiting MIT, I have gone ahead and taken a picture of the inside of a dome for you. See? Ugly, and it doesnt even look like a dome. Do yourself a favor and utilize those 2.4 megabytes of camera space by taking a picture of a neat mural or the Stata Center. I mentioned that the Barker Engineering Library is where sound goes to die and I wasnt joking. It is dead silent in there. If you accidentally make a noise then you are shunned and scorned forever. The only way I can really describe how quiet this library is is to let you listen. This is what the Barker Engineering Library sounds like: Click for MP3, 320kb Because of this silence, and the obviously dim lights, the Barker Engineering Library takes on a whole new use for students. No longer is it a place to read or study but instead a place to nap. This silent and dimly lit library is home to the most comfortable chairs ever. Add this to the perpetually warm environment and you have an instant KO. The library staff realizes this and appreciates it. They dont mind if you sleep there, sometimes even encouraging it if it makes you be quiet. The Barker Engineering Library is even one of the stops on the official MIT Napping Tour of Campus that happens during Orientation. On my visit yesterday there were two individuals taking advantages of the napping possibilities. They were still there when I left and will probably be woken up by the nice lady that comes around at closing time to tap everybody on the shoulder. So thats Barker. If you ever need an excellent place to nap, you now know where to go.

The Mending Wall by Robert Frost Essay - 1226 Words

The Mending Wall by Robert Frost Robert Frost was not just a writer. Frost was, more importantly, an American writer whose works epitomized the Modernist literary movement, and in turn represented the mood and minds of a nation. Frost remains emblematic of a specific time in our country. Through the words of the poet, readers of his day could see a real-time reflection of themselves - visible in Frosts verses were the hopes and apprehensions that marked the first half of the twentieth- century. However, in his ability to express this unlikely mixture of cynicism and sentiment, Frost did more than capture the attention of his contemporaries he captured the times for all times. A modern reader of Frost is a reader of†¦show more content†¦Yet, under scrutiny these lines of seeming simplicity reveal a wealth of profundity. The something there is that doesnt love a wall destroys the structure with frozen-ground-swell could be construed as Nature defying the works human hands. However, it probable that which does not love a wall is not simple nature, but Human Nature. The frozen-ground-swell is the cold heart that permeates the building of such a wall, and the eventual warming of the heart spills the upper boulders in the sun. For Frost, a man living in a time when the industrial revolution and all the advances of the new century, the twentieth- century, were making our fenced-in walls archaic structures in an emerging homogeneoous society. In fact, the gaps in the wall were big enough that ...two could pass abreast. This is an important idea. The holes in the wall were not for one, but for two. A fence has two sides, two identities, two purposes. In the gaping holes of the wall, both that which is restricted and that which restricts, are allowed simultaneous freedom of movement. This is an exemplary idea for a time when many restraints in America, socially and physically, were being defied. Further in the poem, the speaker tells of the mending of the wall with, And on a day we meet to walk the line/And set the wall between us once again/ We keep the wall between us as we go/ToShow MoreRelatedThe Mending Wall By Robert Frost Essay1695 Words   |  7 PagesRobert Frost`s poem â€Å"The Mending Wall† was first â€Å"published in 1914 by David Nutt in North of Boston† (Modern American Poetry). The Scarcity Of Social Studies Classes - 3672 Words

Chapter 1 Resources, such as the number of social studies classes available to rising juniors at Ridge High School, are limited. The wants and needs of humans, on the other hand, are quite the opposite. Therefore, there are not enough resources to be evenly spread through the populace. This is known as scarcity. Economics is the study of the choices people are forced to make due to the omnipresent scarcity of resources. The scarcity of social studies classes available to rising juniors at Ridge, as well as the institutions mandating my education forced me to make a choice between CP, Honors, and AP Gov Econ. Many economic factors were at play in my decision to enroll in AP Gov Econ, including cost-benefit analysis and opportunity cost, my human capital and utility, and barriers to entry. Scarcity necessitates choices, and when people make choices, they receive benefits and incur costs. The costs are highlighted by the value of the next best alternative of the choices, or the opportunity cost. In this case, my next best alternative to taking AP Gov Econ would be to take Honors Gov Econ. To decide which class was the best one to take, I used cost-benefit analysis. I weighed the marginal costs and benefits of each class. AP would mean a heavier workload and harder assignments, but would greater prepare me for the future. In order to achieve success different organizations built proper plans for running their business but if the programs or plans are not used properly then the organization will be unsuccessful to perform effectively (Sedaghati and Kavousi-Fard, 2014). As a result, proper management is much more needed in the organization for achieving proper success. The operation management of the business uses certain processes, which includes manufacture of cabinets in small assemblies for increasing the sales and for meeting the needs of the organization. The organization has used various implementation processes in the operation management of the organization (Parisio et al., 2013).The organizations are facing lot of challenges related to delivery requirement, cost and manufacturing processes. It is very much necessary as well as important for a company to have effective production as well as operation system that helps in increasing the economic condition of the organization as well as assisting in gathering the needs of the customers or the clients. Analysis of the new builders kitchen on the operation of the organization The sales of the latest builders are increasing at a faster rate, which led to additional scheduling of job in the organization. Priority is always given to custom kitchen whenever any scheduling trade-off is made (White Pages - Search for an Australian Business, Government Department or Person, 2016). This is because of the high sales and revenue margins of the organization. The amount of work was increased when the components of cabinets are left for completing the different phases. This helps in changing the various regions of manufacture of a plant that is crowded with some partial work. According to Shabanpour and Seifi (2015), proper manufacturing as well as production is significant for developing a business. Proper system of manufacturing and implementation of products not only increases efficiency but also helps in reducing the price of the product. It also helps in introducing some unique systems for developing the skills of the workers, which helps in providing support for the new changes in the business. It is argued by Stoppato (2012), proper implementation and manufacturing processes needs help from the employees of the organization. They help in planning proper implementation and production processes, as they are the individual who can enhance the production by getting involved. They serve as a helpful resource to the organization. Workers of the company also put their entire effort for making the manufacturing processes of the company effective. According to Tano (2013), JIT is a policy that helps in signifying the wasteful resources of the organization. The business justice that helps in making the bond with the recordings of completed goods and services of the company. The finished goods of the company interfere with the revenue. The ideal JIT scenes are very much essential in a company as it provides help in delivering and purchasing goods and products when they are essential. Organizational issues due to the operational problems in Hawkesbury Cabinets Accountant of Hawkesbury Cabinets reveals that the limits of cost are inappropriate. Costs that are related with proper average builders line were increasing (White Pages - Search for an Australian Business, Government Department or Person, 2016). Therefore, an increasing amount of capital is binded with the help of the accounting process of raw material. For accommodating with the amount of recordings, warehouses were rented. Mai Chen was disturbed with increasing lead times that is both because of normal and habitual orders. It was stated by Zhang et al. (2016), that there are numerous challenges caused due to the operational issues and they are confronted by the organizations. Inappropriate developing process led to many organizational issues. The clients want quality-based goods at low prices. The organization faces financial losses in meeting the demands of the people. Sometimes the organization wants to offer best quality product at marginal cost as a result the economic condition of the company comes in danger. Conclusion It was concluded from the review that Hawkesbury Cabinets Pty Ltd had faced numerous operational problems due to the practices and the processes that are adopted by the organization. The challenges that the company faces is mostly due to spacious process of manufacturing, due to lack of severe delivery obligation and production of cost sensitive goods. In this assignment, it can be conclude that the costing factor of the organization has appropriate approach towards increasing the typical line of builders. References Copil, G., Truong, H.L. Why Do We Need The Covenants Essay Example For Students

Why Do We Need The Covenants? Essay Judy BeatyGREL 1003: Principals of Biblical FaithProf. J. Gordon Eisenman11 October 2000Why do we need the Covenants?Could mere obedience to law bring about forgiveness of sins and salvation? Gods whole plan of salvation is promised and understood through the Covenants. Many denominations have different beliefs, however, thanks to the Covenants, all believe that the only condition for salvation that He requires is faith. These Covenants were and are still very necessary because they convey Gods promise. An understanding of the Covenants helps build a persons faith and gives one a much better basis for understanding of the Bible. The need for the Covenants was pointed out by God in Romans 3:23, where He said, all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. In the Old Testament, the believers did not have Gods Spirit in them as a permanent gift. The laws, of the Old Covenant, were broken by Gods people, even though, both Covenants made clear that the way to be declared not guilty by Him was not for good work or deeds, but by faith. We will write a custom essay on Why Do We Need The Covenants? specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now The Old Covenant What and WhereWhenever God makes a promise or gives man a commandment or a prohibition, He makes a covenant with man. This type of contract usually comes about through negotiations. Once an agreement is reached, it is usually sealed in some formal way. Thus, it becomes binding to everyone. The Old Covenant was essentially a contract between God and the Israelites (His chosen people). He sent Moses to these people to convey his message, which was If ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people; for all the earth is mine: and ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests and an holy nation (KJV) Exodus 19:5 6. The physical sign of following the Old Covenant was circumcision. The Mosaic Law was a central part of the Old Covenant. This law was the moral record of how Gods people were supposed to live. The vehicle by which God taught people about their own sinfulness and their need for a savior was the Law in the Old Testament. However, Paul, along with the rest of the apostles, taught that salvation was impossible through obedience to the Law, even under the Old Covenant. Paul stated this in Romans 3:20, because of the works of the Law no flesh will be justified in His sight; for through the Law comes the knowledge of sin. He also goes on in Romans 4 to show that not even Abraham, the father of the nation of Israel, was justified before God through faith, not by works. In Timothy, when Paul uses the words Scriptures or sacred writings, he is referring to the Old Testament, which of course, included the Law. Old Covenant FollowersThere were several people who followed the Old Covenant, such as Abraham, Isaac, Joseph, Jacob and Moses. One such person who was good and followed everything God told him to do was Moses. The Bible makes it clear that Moses is founder of the Jewish people and Judaism, the faith, but that Abraham is the founder of the nation. As the leader of the Jews he freed them from slavery in Egypt, as well as protected them from the wrath of God, and negotiated with God on their behalf. Moses is said to be the author of the first five books of the Bible, best known as the Torah. He is the greatest of the Hebrew prophets, who had many face to face meetings with God. .u57172c1483584b1c0b6665e21d7ccf38 , .u57172c1483584b1c0b6665e21d7ccf38 .postImageUrl , .u57172c1483584b1c0b6665e21d7ccf38 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u57172c1483584b1c0b6665e21d7ccf38 , .u57172c1483584b1c0b6665e21d7ccf38:hover , .u57172c1483584b1c0b6665e21d7ccf38:visited , .u57172c1483584b1c0b6665e21d7ccf38:active { border:0!important; } .u57172c1483584b1c0b6665e21d7ccf38 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u57172c1483584b1c0b6665e21d7ccf38 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u57172c1483584b1c0b6665e21d7ccf38:active , .u57172c1483584b1c0b6665e21d7ccf38:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u57172c1483584b1c0b6665e21d7ccf38 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u57172c1483584b1c0b6665e21d7ccf38 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u57172c1483584b1c0b6665e21d7ccf38 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u57172c1483584b1c0b6665e21d7ccf38 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u57172c1483584b1c0b6665e21d7ccf38:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u57172c1483584b1c0b6665e21d7ccf38 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u57172c1483584b1c0b6665e21d7ccf38 .u57172c1483584b1c0b6665e21d7ccf38-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u57172c1483584b1c0b6665e21d7ccf38:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Essay About Violence At SchoolGod had Moses come up the mountain, where he received the stone tablets (the 10 Commandments) to take down to His people and thus interpret these laws to them. Hair looks, feels, and smells freshly shampooed Portable and convenient, fresh can be used anywhere at any time to keep hair fresh, luminous and voluminous in between washes. It can also be used 5-6 hrs after wash bath, because the ingredients which are used in it are the mixture of both herbal and scientific ingredients. So the impact will be effective more likely. Due to the fact Pakistani market is more conscious about herbal way treatment. Simply spray it on, brush it through – and hair is gently and beautifully restored. Fresh! Dry herbal shampoo spray uses the power of nature and science to ‘dry’ clean hair – leaving it refreshed, revived and rejuvenated. This line accurately paralleled the marketing reality that women men think of their hair as being dry, oily, or normal, and they do not believe that any one shampoo can meet their individual requirements. The dry herbal shampoo spray works for absorbing oil. It also is scented so it’ll leave a bit of that fragrance behind. But it doesn’t clean your hair nearly as well as a regular shampooing. It also may leave a white residue and can leave hair feeling gross. However, if you want to skip a shampooing day or two this product is good in a pinch. It’s also good for color treated hair because it will help reduce the amount of color lost. The idea behind dry herbal shampoo spray is to remove excess oil from hair follicles without having to actually wash the hair using a traditional shampoo and water. It is not unusual for households to keep a small amount of dry shampoo spry on hand as part of an emergency hygiene kit. In the event that water is not available, the dry shampoo spry spray compound can be applied and provide at least a partial cleansing of the hair. Price: With the dry shampoo spry spray being produced, price is another factor that the producer has to think of carefully. Dry shampoo spry spray is a high-involvement product, 1 in terms of the quality of the ingredients, class of the target audience, the production costs are competitive; and meets the required profit and the consumer needs. Place: Concerning the place of distribution, PG needs to storm his brain to allocate suitable places to reach the target group. Places relating to distribution are: wholesalers, retailers, and intermediaries. Promotion: There are two important strategies the push strategy and the pull strategy, in order to gain the consumer’s cooperation. The push strategy is a technique by which a PG convinces there sellers to order or buy products through the channel of distribution so that the resellers can make a profit. For example, using the technique of the incentive, giving a gift when buying more, and so on. The consumer is attracted to the product through the service from the retailer, via promotional tools such as coupons, sweepstakes, rebates, and free samples, known as the pull strategy in the form of advertising. The marketing strategy for dry shampoo spry spray is ‘the segmentation approach’ where the aim is to collectively target one (niche) market.

Money as Debt Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1750 words

Money as Debt - Essay Example But if you want to continue to be slaves of the banks and pay the cost of your own slavery, then let the bankers continue to create money and control credit." I thought that it would be a fitting quote to open up this essay, seeing that I am to write about the financial crisis that is going on in the United Kingdom. What better person's quote to use than the director of the Bank of England As if people may not know, the world is experiencing a so-called global financial crisis. Everywhere an individual turns; there is talk of job-losses, recession, tough times and times getting harder, no matter which politician or elected official gets put in office. It is as if Charles Dickens' novel "A tale of two Cities" really isn't a tale at all. It seems that this author's book was and is effectively serving a preamble of things to come and what is happening right now. Truly it is the best of times and the worst of times simultaneously. It is the best of times because as you may know, there are winners and losers in every situation in life. In this essay we will analyze the financial crisis that is happening in the United Kingdom. We will analyze the crisis thereof using political, economic, social, and technological factors and attempt to discover useful solutions to the problem at hand. We will take a no nonsense approach to identifying the problem, government attempts to solve the problem, and The relationship between United States and Great Britain It has been exactly two hundred thirty two years since the United States declared independence from Great Britain, and now it seems as if both nations are in the same predicament. And even though the founding fathers of the United States didn't want to have a central banking system similar to Great Britain because of the evils inflicted upon the colonies, have similar systems of central banking. Both of the nations have the same colors on their flag, which are red, white, and blue. Let's just hope that England's colors don't represent the same virtues as America's flag; red being blood, white being purity and blue meaning truth. Henceforth, here is a truth again taken from the film Money as Debt from American founding father Benjamin Franklin. "The inability of the Colonist to get power to issue their money permanently out of George III and the international bankers was the PRIME reason for the revolutionary war." However, the colors of the two nation's flags are not as important as the shade of times that the two countries are living right now. Let's look at the Bank of England and look at our friend who started the whole concept of banking. For the sake of this essay, let's call him Gary the Goldsmith. The History of money Mr. Paul Grignon's video which can be found www.google.com

God of small things by arundati roy - is love greater than caste Essay

God of small things by arundati roy - is love greater than caste - Essay Example But does that mean love is stronger than caste? In the case of Ammu and Velutha, it certainly was but only in their eyes. It was not even conceivable in the eyes of others. Paravans were one of those untouchables that Ammu’s family had known for a long time but never considered them an equal in any sense of the word. For them Paravans were to be treated like all other untouchables in the land: â€Å"In Mammachi’s time, Paravans, like other untouchables were not allowed to walk on public roads, not allowed to cover their upper bodies, not allowed to carry umbrellas. They had to put their hands over their mouths when they spoke, to divert their polluted breath away from those whom they addressed.† (p. 71) The novel makes use of some amazing imagery to adequately explain the intensity or enormity of important things. For example, when talking about religion in Kerala, Roy writes: "Christianity arrived in a boat and seeped into Kerala like tea from a tea bag." (p.38). Ammu was a young divorced woman with two children who are twins. The author uses imagery and similes again to define Ammu’s personality: â€Å"Ammu was an unmixable mix. The infinite tenderness of motherhood and the reckless rage of a suicide bomber." (p. 44). Divorce in itself was a huge stigma in those times and to get it at a very such age was even more painful for the victim. Ammu had to live in her mother’s house, almost like a subdued servant since she couldn’t even enjoy the dignity of having her own place. She was dependent on her parents for shelter. At that age, which according to the narrator was â€Å"a viable, die-able age†, Ammu still had sexual urges; she still dreamed of being loved and touched and must have fantasized about having a relationship. However being a divorcee, the chances of that ever happening were slim and at 30, she was stuck

Discuss Seven Key Characteristics Of Leader Nursing Essay

Discuss Seven Key Characteristics Of Leader Nursing Essay Leadership is defined as a combination of skills, internal motivation or personality traits and characteristics in any particular situation in which a person is able to influence the values, attitudes, beliefs or behaviour of a team (Daly, Speedy Jackson, 2006). It is an art which can motivate or inspire a person or a group to do well and achieve a common goal. In leadership a person who works as a leader directs a group by using knowledge, skills and personality traits and all team members follow this leader. Leadership occurs when someone influences others to act in a situation by guiding, inspiring and motivating (Davidson, 2010). There are seven major characteristics of a leader which play a vital role in leadership. The first and most important characteristic is self esteem. A leader should have knowledge of his or her strengths and weaknesses. If a person is able to find their own self then he or she can build strength in others and can also create confidence which can counterbalance any weaknesses or ineffectiveness in others. This is very important in every field of leadership. A leader should know about his or her own worth and be able to make good decisions (Blais, Hayes, Kozier Erb, 2006). Secondly, a leader should be a good communicator, because communication always works to increase unity and it leads to teamwork. A leader who has good communication skills can understand team members views and think about them. A leader always motivates team members to share their ideas to ensure that all are able to contribute to achieve the common goal. If a leader can communicate well with group members regarding their plans and ask them about their ideas, they will feel more motivated and valued for their work and also will understand their duties. This characteristic empowers the team members to equally participate in achieving common goal (Vanhove, 2010). Integrity is an important and effective quality of a leader which involves honesty, loyalty and trustworthiness in leadership. It is demonstrated by a persons thinking, attitudes and actions. People always judge integrity by a leaders behaviour and truthfulness during work. If a person treats others well with a strong sense of right and wrong and shows dedication towards their work, they are a trustworthy and respected leader. Leaders can display integrity by working clearly and honestly with team spirit (Kelly, 2009). A leader should have balance between professional or family life. It is a good trait of a leader to have a balanced life. If a person pays attention to their work or their goals at the appropriate time and then is also able to maintain their personal relationships by giving time to family members and friends, then that person can lead without stress in their work place. A leader can become a role model by balancing their life (Whitehead, Weiss Tappen, 2004). Having a good vision is another essential quality of leadership. By this characteristic a leader can find out new opportunities and new trends to make their organisation strong and successful. A leader who has good visualization of upcoming possibilities and trends can make a difference in discerning good and bad opportunities. By this visionary leadership, leaders can imagine effective goals for team members and apply these in order to avoid difficult problems. Leaders should screen opportunities or information and choose the useful information for their team to attain the best outcomes. This personality trait is also important for the professional growth of a person (Sullivan Decker, 2009). In addition, a leader should have the power to make decisions and empower the team members to share their ideas with management. Empowerment makes a leader confident and relevant to work in the organisation. By empowering group members, their contribution to thinking and planning increases their passion to work in a group (Huber, 2006). Moreover, awareness and observance of their environment should be in leadership. A person who has the ability to observe that what is happening around him or her can work as a leader. In some tough situations a leader can observe the problem and make some relevant decisions to solve it. Good observational skills help to detect upcoming difficulties and enable strategies to be put in place to prevent harm by informing the group in advance (Spears, 2010). These characteristics are very important in nursing leadership because an effective nurse leader can work with others to gain universal goals like better client care, make new policies and create new procedures. In nursing leadership, integrity is very important because patients and health workers always accept honesty and rely on trustworthy leaders. As a leader, a nurse has to notice different issues and perspectives to improve clients health, so good characteristics make him or her passionate and a source of encouragement to do the best which result in a good impact on others (Carroll, 2002). In the health care environment, leaders and teams or team work are necessary for success so it is important to have good traits in a leader to promote the health and take appropriate action in order to meet patients needs. In nursing field effective leadership require all these characteristics to understand the human emotions that nurses face daily basis. By having good self esteem, nurse leader can understand and accept own self in nursing. Some traits like good communication and good observation in nurse leaders make them strong to focus on achieving common goal related to client care and it increase leadership capacity which are vital to ensuring assessment of situation and implementation of a suitable plan of action. Nursing leadership based on honesty and truthfulness because patients trust on nurses for improvement in health care with understanding (Daly, Speedy Jackson, 2010). Nursing practice is affected by these characteristics which are needed to shape and improve the structure of health care facilities. They help to make new strategies in order to achieve common goals. Health field is a difficult field so staff and management have to tackle difficult situations in daily routine so this helps in decision making and problem solving (Shaw, 2007) Empowerment makes staff members independent to share their ideas and power to take decision in client care. By having these characteristics in nursing leaders they can learn from adversity and show dedication to the job. By good observation a leader can monitor the staffs work to maintain quality and provide the best direction to staff for future. It is essential for nurses to realize that people require ongoing feedback which can be positive or negative. In the practise of nursing, effective leadership requires understanding common goals and needs of staff and patients which can be created by motivating and empowering the team and others who will interact with it (Blais, Hayes, Kozier Erb, 2006). Change always affected by power. It can be in different position. Power works for change by using different methods and ways. It can be knowledge, money and experiences of particular field. In nursing field nurses can make change only in their limitations and by using their own power which should be related to client care (Painter, 2010). Power is defined as one persons effect or influence on others to gain support in order to implement new ideas. It can be used to reward or punishing others for right or wrong action. People are always affected by power and sometimes it influences every day practice in nursing and nurses represent the power capacity to react and respond in a range of ways. Power can produce changes in work place and quality of work for best result in health care environment. Nurses knowledge, practise and understanding of their role in helping people make them more able to influence people by particular decision making related to peoples health and wellbeing. Their power and authority can be used to improve the patients condition and nursing practise (Marquis, 2009) Nurses have power to discuss new policies and plan. They can speak about right and wrong in practise and share their ideas to benefits clients care. Power also can be use to improve skills and knowledge of working group. Nurses use their power to work for client for better outcomes (Huntington Gilmour, 2006). Nurses can exercise their power by educating to patients and their families in order to achieve better health and make changes in their power. Secondly, nurse can use power effectively by changing behaviour of colleagues by introducing new policies and plans. Nurse can improve their performance in their profession by getting training which will improve their good practice (Tomey, 2004). Nursing managers use their power to make changes in organizations by evaluating staff in order to reward and punish them. Nurses use power to share information and work as experts in nursing field. Nurses use information and reasonable power to promote health. Empowering everyone in this field, prevent conflicts and other unsatisfactory behaviour in the work place. Moreover, empowerment provides independence to make decisions for health worker in their field (Yoder- Wise, 2003). Nurses should always use their power to be trustworthy health care providers because power makes a relationship of trust between nurse and client. In other words, nurse can effectively use power strategy to motivate others to connect and collaborate to achieve professional goals (Huber, 2006). In conclusion, leadership is a process to influence others by some characteristics to make change and achieve common goal in profession. Seven key characteristics like integrity, self esteem, communication skill, power, balance in life and observation, are very important for nursing leader because by these characteristics a leader can impact strongly on others and feel more confident to motivate others. Look again at the three seventeenth century poems, â€Å"To His Coy Mistress†, â€Å"The Flea†, and â€Å"Shall I compare thee†. In what ways have the three poets used, or departed from, the conventions of their time and why do you think they have been successful in entertaining their readers? â€Å"To His Coy Mistress†, â€Å"The Flea† and â€Å"Shall I Compare Thee† are all poems written in the 17th century. Marvell, Donne and Shakespeare who were the authors of the poems, departed from conventions of that time. Marvel and Donne wrote metaphysical poetry and invented a new genre, whereas Shakespeare wrote a sonnet which appeared to be written in the style of that time but with twists. They have achieved these poems by taking a unique approach to writing them and by keeping the readers entertained through amusement, dismay and excitement. â€Å"To His Coy Mistress and â€Å"The Flea† are very similar in context and purpose. They are metaphysical poems which reflect wit, obscure comparisons of objects and the reality of love and sex. The purpose of both poems was to get the speaker’s mistress to sleep with him, using strong imagery in an act of persuasion. The poems were written to entertain and would have been passed round the writer’s friends in order to amuse them. â€Å"Shall I compare thee† however, stood out because the writer chose a convention already in use. The purpose of this sonnet was to flatter his loved one and in an unexpected twist at the end, also himself. â€Å"Had we but world... ...ent awareness to the poet from the loving and affectionate one we once felt. He comes across proud and slightly arrogant about his work, and puts a different slant on what was once a conventional love poem. In conclusion I think the 17th day reaction would have been entertaining and funny and therefore quite different to the reaction I would expect now. People today would find the poetry quite shocking and distasteful and they would not be considered politically correct. â€Å"To His Coy Mistress† is successful because it is entertaining, wheras â€Å"The Flea† is successful because it’s fascinating and slightly confusing at times. â€Å"Shall I compare thee† however is totally different because it has departed from it and the overall result was very successful. The poet went from delighting the audience then to twisting their opinions of him keeping them entertained.

Public and Private Schools Essay

There are many advantages and disadvantages to both public and private schools. As a parent, both options must be explored and the choice must be based on what is right for each particular child.   Public schools often have a larger variety of subjects available, especially when it comes to electives. However, what is learned is somewhat decided by the state because public schools need to do well on standardized testing. Private schools, on the other hand, whether parochial or private have much more freedom of choice in curriculum and can choose to make their own assessments. Because of the individualized instruction, private schools tend to do generally better on standardized testing, that is, if they choose to use it. Private schools, many times, have more demanding curricula and have a higher rate of students who go on to attend college. Public schools are larger and also have larger class sizes. Public schools also have larger student-teacher ratios. According to a web site called Public School Review, â€Å"Private schools average 13 students per teacher, compared with an average of 16 students per teacher in public schools† (publicschoolreview). However, public schools have certified teachers. Private schools typically have teachers who are not state-certified and who may not have expertise in their subject matter.   The biggest difference between public and private schools probably is that public schools are required to educate all students. They cannot deny any student admission. On the other hand, private schools have complete control about who they accept and can kick students out much more easily.   Public schools are funded by tax revenue whereas private schools are funded privately. That means private schools cost money to attend called tuition. Taxpayers pay for public schools so the payment is included in what people pay. However in private schools, the payment is upfront for students to attend. Overall, there is no one right answer for which kind of school a student attends—public or private. The decision must be made for each individual student as there are advantages and disadvantages of both. Works Cited Public School Review. Public Versus Private Schools. Copyright Infringement Of The Happy Birthday Song, Along...

Copyright is set out to protect the original artists’ creative work from imitations for a limited time, until it enters the Public Domain. Creators may view this as a much needed law to prevent infringement, which grants the lawful artist the rights to their respective work. However, continuing this practice is redundant as copyright does not accomplish what it has been set out to do. The Blurred Lines Case is used to convey how the Lay Listener Test fails to determine copyright infringement. Adele’s plagiarism allegation is reviewed to show the copies of other work, suggesting that copyright cannot determine who holds original authorship. The invalid copyright of The Happy Birthday Song, along with The Walt Disney Company’s lobbying†¦show more content†¦This showed that jurors were unable to determine if songs were guilty of copyright infringement; since a large majority of Jurors (84.8%) wrongfully stated that the original and the copied song were diff erent in composition. Elements of a Civil Copyright Infringement Claim consists of proving Ownership of a Valid Copyright, Actual Copying, and Misappropriation. Actual Copying is proven through direct or indirect evidence that shows a â€Å"striking similarity† between the two works. In the Blurred Lines Case, indirect â€Å"evidence† was used in â€Å"proving† music recording’s two copyright protections were infringement upon: (1) a copyright in the underlying composition and (2) a copyright in the sound recording. This is problematic as Blurred Lines did not infringe on the Actual Copying claim; jurors confused the underlying composition and sound recording for style, when style is not protectable copyright for music recordings. Copyright fails to determine composition and sound recordings in a Lay Listener Test, and give Thicke and William’s exclusive rights to their respective creations, illustrating how copyright is unreliable. Copyright law encourages the creation of â€Å"original† creative work. Yet, creation requires influence. It is not realistic to say that a song can be completely original, containing innovating composition and sound recording. Artists gain influence from other artists, who have adopted the style of the
