In addition to this, it can be said that in the recent time, World has witnessed several such situation where people remained in dilemma about their reaction. Increasing sustainability issues, environmental degradation, reducing availability of resources and other such factors have become vital issues that need to be combated (Remington-Doucette et al., 2013). Therefore, it is important to include teachings related to these topics among the children at a primary level or below primary level. Part A: Design and description of a teaching resource Drawing of the resource: Materials used: The idea of the resource is a book. It is proposed that the book might be made of cardboard that shall provide durability to the product. The content of the book will be written with printed ink. There shall be pictures and images to narrate the incident clearly and make the lessons more acceptable among the children (Fergus, Twigge-Molecey Mcguffin-Cawley, 2013). Apart from the proposed idea of a cardboard book, the same concept might be applied in the form of e-books as well. E-books shall be more technologically advanced and there shall be the option of increasing the storage memory as well and thus, there will be more option of teaching among the teachers (Johnston, 2013). However, it is important to teach children using a physical book rather than using a virtual platform. Since, the concept is to make children aware of the upcoming situation, it is important to leave certain things for imagination to the children that they shall be able to react efficiently on the situation. Instruction for teachers: The main objective of the proposed book is to make the Children aware about the circumstances and how exactly they shall react to combat the situation if they are faced with any kind of situation. It is important to teach children about the importance of sustainability of environment and that each child is responsible to participate in the betterment of the environment (hman, 2016). It is instructed to the teachers, to tell about the importance of sustainability to the students. The next thing is to make them come across a number of situations that the children are expected to face in their regular activities. Some examples of the situations are: What if they find someone throwing plastic wrapper on the road? What shall be the approach of a child if it sees a dog or a cat in trouble? What shall a child do if it comes across a situation where it observes that a person is not utilizing the resources like water or fuel in a correct way? The responses of the children are noted and it is based on the response, further teaching techniques shall be adopted to engage the children in future activities and make them aware about the instances that they shall undertake if they are faced with any kind of situation. After a number of classes, a test can be taken that will tell about the response and the intensity of the learning of the children. The teachers are expected to be very friendly and opened up with the students at the time of teaching them because that shall create ease among the children that they shall be free to ask and clear any doubt from the teacher (Williams Brown, 2013). Moreover, it has to be noted that the children also wanted to share something with their teacher or mentors. Therefore, it is also instructed that the teacher should make focus on such aspect as well. For the students at the primary level, more serious approach can be made towards the teaching technique of the children. Serious issues like safety on roads or while handling equipment or other appliances at home and other such issues that might hinder the sustainability of the environment (Wiek et al., 2014). It is also expected that the teacher shall narrate a number of real life examples and some or situations that might have recently happened. This approach shall make everything clear to the students and whatever is taught to them and they shall be able to relate the lesson easily. Part B: Learning plan For early childhood: At the early age children has to be made aware of the fundamental principles of life that includes manner and disciplines and the way they can contribute towards a better society and environment. Therefore, the series of books meant for the children at the early childhood shall include stories and descriptions related to table manners, things they should follow when they visit others house (Blewitt Cullingford, 2013). At the same time, they shall be taught the ways of approaching and act at the situations when something reliable do not seem to happen. For Primary aged children: When the children reach the primary level, they develop a good level of knowledge and understanding. Reading McLaren, (2015), it has been known that children who attend the age of 9 years develop the basic understanding of particular situation and if they are guided properly, they might be able to handle the situation well. The aim of the education is to make these children aware and capable to react on any kind of situation that they have to face at any point of their regular life activities. Rationale of the plan: The main issue of the education system is that the primary focus made is to teach the students more about the subjects and less about the actual life activities. However, it is very vital to teach children the basic things necessary to deal in life. Early age of education is the primary stage when children can be taught about the things that are necessary for an individual to follow in their life (Senge et al., 2012). The things that are taught to the children at the primary level are expected to create good impact in their future. The teaching technique used at the primary level of education is not appropriate enough to make the children capable of handling any kind of diverse situation or to fight against certain challenges (Sund hman, 2014). Therefore, when the children are made to come across certain expected situation and they are taught the things that shall help them to react appropriately on the particular situation then this type of teaching shall be more fruitful. The issue of dealing appropriately with situation is gaining importance in the recent scenario because of the increasing malpractices and other incidents that has created terror and alarming situation in the society (Sidiropoulos, 2014). The issues related to environmental changes like increasing pollution or global warming are increasing at an alarming rate and these problems and issues needs to be focused in order to combat with the degrading situation. The aim of the proposed teaching resource is to create awareness among the children about the environment safety as well as for other situation that are important for a person to react at any situation. The proposed book is made up of sustainable resources that will not cause any harm to the environment. Another approach that has been made about e-book is another good option that shall retain sustainability of the environment (Wright Horst, 2013). However, as mentioned previously e-book might not be much effective for the fact that it shall not create that imaginative framework among the learners. Links to education for sustainability: Several approaches have been made to include it in the education system about the approaches that one should make in order to participate in the sustainability of environment. The effectiveness of the approach might be high among the students at the secondary learning level but it might not be effective among the children. As stated by Yarime et al. (2012) each and every person has equal participation level for the society or the environment. Moreover, if children are raised properly by teaching them appropriately and making them aware about the importance of sustainability and how each person can be responsible to keep the sustainability of the environment intact. Objectives of the plan: The objective of the proposed plan can be set by the means of a SMART framework. Specific: The plan is to teach the children at early primary and primary level to create awareness among them about the sustainability of environment. They should be taught on how exactly to react on a particular situation when they are faced with any such situation in their regular life activities (Hesselbarth Schaltegger, 2014). Measurable: The success of the plan can be measured if a pseudo situation is created to acknowledge the success of the plan and how well the children have adapted the teaching. It can be easily known by the way the children will react on the situation. Attainable: The objective is easily achievable if the schools devote at least two classes a week on the teaching lessons to teach the children about the importance of sustainability and thus, by the end of the course, the objective can be achieved easily (Wright Horst, 2013). Timely: The objective can be achieved easily within the specified time. Since, it will be a continuous training program the objective can be achieved by the time the children will receive their elementary education. Teaching strategies: The teaching strategy of the proposed plan is that like classes where other subjects are taught, in the same way the children shall be taught about the life lessons and other sustainability approaches from their end. Primarily, regular classes will be taken where the children will be taught the lessons. The teacher is expected to demonstrate various situations to the children by the means of creating a dramatic or a pseudo situation (Senge et al., 2012). It is further recommended that once a month the development and the understanding of the children can be measured by checking the progress of these children in terms of their response towards a particular situation. Conclusion: The innovative and sustainable approach that has been discussed to make children at the primary and early childhood level shall be beneficial enough for the environment as well as the society. The resource selected for the teaching purpose is a product that is made of environment friendly products and therefore is sustainable. The teaching procedure is also based on the sustainability approach made towards the society. It has to be understood that the children are the future of the society and if they are taught in the right direction then the chances of a better environmental situation is high. Moreover, if the children are taught in a dramatic way, the level of understanding increases. In the U.S. Capitol, he became known as a skillful orator, and he often argued against the Madison administrations war policies. Webster left Congress in 1816 to concentrate on his legal career. He acquired a reputation as a highly skilled litigator and argued several prominent cases before the U.S. Supreme Court during the era of Chief Justice John Marshall. One of these cases, Gibbons v. Ogden, established the scope of the U.S. governments authority over interstate commerce. Webster returned to the House of Representatives in 1823 as a representative from Massachusetts. While serving in Congress, Webster often gave public addresses, including eulogies for Thomas Jefferson and John Adams (who both died on July 4, 1826). He became known as the greatest public speaker in the country. Senate Career Webster was elected to the U.S. Senate from Massachusetts in 1827. He would serve until 1841, and would be a prominent participant in many critical debates. Webster supported the passage of theà Tariff of Abominationsà in 1828, and that brought him into conflict with John C. Calhoun, the intelligent and fiery political figure from South Carolina. Sectional disputes came into focus, and Webster and a close friend of Calhoun, Senator Robert Y. Hayne of South Carolina, squared off in debates on the floor of the Senate in January 1830. Hayne argued in favor of states rights, and Webster, in a famous rebuttal, forcefully argued for the authority of the federal government. The verbal fireworks between Webster and Hayne became something of a symbol for the nations growing divisions. The debates were covered in detail by newspapers and watched closely by the public. As theà Nullification Crisisà developed, Webster supported the policy ofà President Andrew Jackson, who threatened to send federal troops to South Carolina. The crisis was averted before violent action took place. Webster opposed the economic policies of Andrew Jackson, however, and in 1836 he ran for president as a Whig againstà Martin Van Buren, a close political associate of Jackson. In a contentious four-way race, Webster only carried his own state of Massachusetts. Secretary of State Four years later, Webster again sought the Whig nomination for president but lost toà William Henry Harrison, who won the election of 1840. Harrison appointed Webster as his Secretary of State. President Harrison died a month after taking office. As he was the first president to die in office, there was a controversy over presidential succession in which Webster participated.à John Tyler, Harrisons vice president, asserted that he should become the next president, and theà Tyler Precedentà became accepted practice. Webster was one of the cabinet officials who disagreed with this decision; he felt that the presidential cabinet should share some of the presidential powers. After this controversy, Webster did not get along with Tyler, and he resigned from his post in 1843. Later Senate Career Webster returned to the U.S. Senate in 1845. He had tried to secure the Whig nomination for president in 1844 but lost to longtime rival Henry Clay. In 1848, Webster lost another attempt to get the nomination when the Whigs nominatedà Zachary Taylor, a hero of theà Mexican War. Webster was opposed to the spread of slavery to new American territories. In the late 1840s, however, he began supporting compromises proposed by Henry Clay to keep the Union together. In his last major action in the Senate, he supported theà Compromise of 1850, which included the Fugitive Slave Act that was highly unpopular in New England. Webster delivered a highly anticipated address during Senate debates- later known as the Seventh of March Speech- in which he spoke in favor of preserving the Union. Many of his constituents, deeply offended by parts of his speech, felt betrayed by Webster. He left the Senate a few months later, whenà Millard Fillmore, who had become president after the death of Zachary Taylor, appointed him as Secretary of State. In May 1851, Webster rode along with two New York politicians, Senator William Seward and President Millard Fillmore, on a train trip to celebrate the new Erie Railroad. At every stop across New York State crowds gathered, mostly because they were hoping to hear a speech by Webster. His oratory skills were such that he overshadowed the president. Webster tried again to be nominated for president on the Whig ticket in 1852, but the party chose General Winfield Scott at aà brokered convention. Angered by the decision, Webster refused to support Scotts candidacy. Death Webster died on October 24, 1852, just before the general election (which Winfield Scott would lose toà Franklin Pierce). He was buried in Winslow Cemeteryà inà Marshfield, Massachusetts. Legacy Webster cast a long shadow in American politics. He was greatly admired, even by some of his detractors, for his knowledge and speaking skills, which made him one of the most influential political figures of his time. Any transformation an adolescent goes through may have an impact on the introduction and progression of teenage substance use. Substance abuse is drug abuse. Most substance abusers globally are the adolescents. This is because their developmental stage is vulnerable to anything. The brain development of an adolescent is not fully developed. A teenager may physically resemble an adult but still lack the brain maturation to think like one. To expect adolescents to make adult like decisions in regard to substance use is an unlikely expectation for most teenagers. Adolescence is defined as those behavioral changes that take place between childhood and maturity or adulthood. It is the changing period from childhood to adulthood. Adolescence is viewed as a time where biological, psychological and social transitions take place. It is the most critical stage of human development. During adolescence, different behavior patterns become more frequent (Cobb, 2006). These behavioral trends include risk- taking behaviors, conflicts between the adolescence peers and parents and greater social development. Every individual adapts to their behavior depending on how they were brought up, their social interactions and adult influences. The physical development of adolescence is known as puberty. It is the stage a person is able to reproduce (Cobb, 2006). Adolescence Physical development is all about the body changes. It involves genital growth, changes in body odor. Voice changes, growth of pubic hair, breast development and menstruation in female. The psychosocial development of adolescence is complicated. It involves hormones, love interests and intellectual pursuits. All this complicates adolescence development. In this development, stress, depression, lack of sleep, and anxiety are common among teenagers (Johnston et al, 2006). It is during this psychosocial development that adolescent teenagers are at risk of bad behavior. This development mostly involves intellectual pursuits and social interactions. Adolescentsââ¬â¢ brains are usually not fully developed. This plays a major role in immature emotional and cognitive development. It is during adolescence that teenagers adapt easily to different behaviors. How bad and well the behavior is depended on how an individual was brought up and the social interactions. Many risky behaviors such as substance abuse start at the adolescent stage of human development. Adolescence is also a time when young individuals take risks that can have a long time effects on their health and well being. Substance abuse is the misuse of drugs. Most adolescents are prone to drugs and substance abuse. This is because the adolescent brains are not fully developed, and this plays a role in the decisions they make. Immature brain sections may place teenagers at prominent risk to the effects of drugs. Misuse of drugs or substance abuse is mostly associated with the adolescents. Globally, it is estimated through research that five billion people who abuse or use substances are the adolescent (Johnston et al, 2006). Adolescence is a period of significant personal development. It is in this adolescent stage that teenagers are let to make their own decisions. They choose their friends and how they want to live their life. It is during this stage that they can adapt easily to certain behaviors due to influences. It is said that adolescence is the time of testing and novelty seeking. Curiosity on drugs is one way that makes young people abuse substances. Millions of young people try an illicit drug at least once during their adolescent years. The most common substance abuse among adolescents is alcohol and tobacco. Most of the teenagers will have tried either of the two or both. It is estimated that twelve years is the average age of children to take their first alcoholic drink. Nearly 20 percent of twelve to twenty year old is considered to be binge drinkers (Cobb, 2006). Tobacco smoking is also prone to adolescents. Most smokers globally start at their teenage years hence become addicted. It is said that teens are more vulnerable to addiction and receptive to nicotine than are those who start to smoke as adults. Causes of adolescence substance use vary. Peer selection processes, peer influences and cognitive biases play a major role in adolescents substance use. Parental influences also play a role in adolescence substance use. How the adolescent is raised and how the parents behave with them is important to their development. The parent teenage relationship plays major roles in adolescent substance use. Substance abuse has its effects to an individual. Adolescents who use substances frequently are at risk for healthy problems. Alcohol, tobacco and other drugs have certain effects that can cause mental and heath problems. Substance abuse adolescents are at a high risk for various issues that may disrupt with their development. The physical, psychological and social effects of adolescent substance or drug abuse can have lasting consequences for the individual. This may interfere with a successful transition from adolescence to adulthood. On-going adolescent substance abuse can make an individual be at a greater risk for addiction in adulthood (Cobb, 2006). The physical consequences of adolescent substance abuse affect an individual physical development. Physical injuries and illnesses occur as a result of drug related accidents and overdoses. The psychological consequences of adolescent substance abuse affect an individual psychological development. Psychological development is all about the brain. The Misuse and overdose of substances leads to mental health problems. Alcohol is one substance that affects an individual psychological development (Cobb, 2006). Tobacco misuse can lead to illnesses such as lung cancer. Other problems may also arise due to tobacco smoking. These illnesses caused by substance abuse can also lead to death. Prolonged substance abuse can cause depression an anxiety, which can disrupt an adolescent ability to function and develop in a productive manner. There are also social consequences due to adolescent substance abuse. Adolescents who frequently abuse substances are more likely to have issues with their social development. Most of them tend to isolate themselves from family and friends. They are also more likely to have troubles with the law and law enforcers. Due to this, the adolescent substance abuser can bring problems within the family. Adolescence is a critical stage. Parents, teachers and any other adult should be role models for healthy behaviors. This is because adolescents adapt certain behavior from their peers and adults. Substance abuse affects adolescents mostly, and this can be avoided if the child to adolescent development is proper. Abortion: A Controversial Issue One of the major controversial issues confronting the society today is abortion. I choose abortion as the topic of discussion since it contradicts my values and beliefs. Abortion is the extraction of the human fetus from the motherââ¬â¢s womb with an intention to end the life of that fetus prior to its natural birth. The controversy surrounding abortion is whether it should be legalized or not? In my opinion, abortion is morally and ethically wrong because it leads to violation of human rights. Life is precious and only itââ¬â¢s Creator has the right to take it away. I chose this issue for discussion to bring to light many of the hidden facts and arguments, of which people are unaware and not very sensitive today. Three of the many aspects of abortion can be taken into consideration 1) Motives behind abortion 2) Pro life v/s pro choice. 2) The growth of the ââ¬Å"Dead Baby Industry.â⬠Abortion is an issue lacking of humanity and moral value because of the various motives behind it. Abortion is the most extreme, permanent and devastatingly violent solution, for an unborn child. As said by former Surgeon General and a pediatrician Dr. C. Everett Koop, the most common reason for abortion is convenience. Only three to five percent of all abortions performed are for reasons of rape, incest, the possibility of a deformed child, or severe threat to the life of the mother. As Dr. Koop, has pointed out, the majority of partial birth abortions are not required by medical emergency. According to researchers at the Alan Guttmacher Institute, of those obtaining abortions in 1980, 30 percent were under age 20 and 79 percent were unmarried, which shows that abortions in the United States are most often sought as a "solution" to the problem of pregnancy outside of marriage. The major reason behind most of the abortions is mere inconvenience or unwantedness of the baby seems mean, insensitive and unreasonable. Pro-life vs. pro choice is a leading fundamental concern regarding the abortion controversy. The main argument of the pro-choice view for legalized abortions has to do with a woman's right to privacy and her right to control her body. The pro-choice viewers do not approve of governmental interference in personal matters like abortion. Certainly this right of p... ... in society. The worldly materialization and sophistication has made the abortionists so insensitive towards morality that life has lost its true worth. The main point is not the price that an eye, a brain or heart is sold for, but that a helpless child had to be killed in order to obtain these parts. Thus legalizing abortions would not mean giving the opponents a right to privacy and choice, but would in turn give a boost to their multimillion dollar biotechnology industry (Crutcher,M). Iââ¬â¢m the defender of the right to life in America and an issue like abortion should light a fire in the hearts of all who respect this nationââ¬â¢s founding principles. The strength of the pro-life position is not because of some clever definition of life. Rather the facts force us to admit that this is a unique individual human life, whose helplessness in the womb can either motivate us to compassion, nurturing and protection or be used as an excuse and opportunity to exercise our deadly power and earn millions. As a result, legalizing abortion would open doors for plenty different sinful industries. This in turn would not lead to progress.

Looking At Womens Sexuality In Cane English Literature Essay The Harlem Renaissance was a time period when the African American art and culture started to thrive. This time period many African American people started feeling more assimilated with American culture then before. The migration from the suppressed south to the north is what ushered in the Harlem Renaissance period. This was also a time where African Americans had let down their inhibitions which in turn paved the way for the culture to come through. Still, many black people had to go through challenging times. Many of the southern blacks had to deal with racial beatings and lynching. The author who really drew a vivid picture of the lives of southern black people was Jean Toomer. Toomer wrote his famous novel Cane at the beginning of the Harlem Renaissance which further inspired other African American artist. In Cane, Toomer uses vibrant imagery of Georgia and symbolism to show the lives of southern black people. His stories Portrait in Georgia and Georgia Dusk mention lynchings th at white people use in attempt to show black people who the powerful race is. Other stories like Song of the Son and Cotton Song echo the past history of slavery. One prominent theme that seems to be relevant in Cane is sexuality, or more prominently black womens sexuality. In the first story Karintha, Toomer tells of a girl who Men had always wantedà ¢Ã¢â ¬Ã ¦even as a child (Toomer 1). The lust of Karintha at a young age was one so tempting that even older men wished for youth so they would have a chance with her. This changes though when She played home with a small boy who was not afraid to do her bidding (Toomer 1). This line seems to imply that Karintha married a man who could provide certain things to her. Further lines that talk about the old men who remind Karintha of when they use to lust after her, mentions that she Smiles, and indulges them when she is in the mood for it, which supports the idea that Karintha has turned into a prostitute. This is also evident when Toomer explains: The attention given to Karintha was only used for her sexuality. Ultimately, the lust for Karintha dehumanized her existence and The soul of her was a growing thing ripened too soon (Toomer 2). This quote reinforces the idea of Karintha being a prostitute. From these actions it could also be implied that Karintha had a stillborn baby when Toomer writes But Karintha is a woman, and she has had a child. A child fell out of her womb onto a bed of pine-needles in the forest (Toomer 2). At the beginning of this story, Toomer shows the innocence of a young Karintha, he then contrasted that to an older used Karintha. Another story Carma is about a black woman who is strong as any man (Toomer 10). Carmas promiscuous sexuality is what ultimately lands her husband in a chain gang. The story goes on to explain that Carma has an extramarital affair She had others. No one blames her for that (Toomer 11). She might not be blamed for that, but she is blamed after her husband finds out about the affair. This leads to Carma shooting herself to gain more sympathy from him. This does nothing but anger her husband who states Twice deceived, and one deception proved the other, then kills a man next to him (Toomer 11). Toomer portrays Carma as somewhat of a she devil for her promiscuous sexuality that angers her husband who ends up serving his time. Toomer shows the opposite of the sexual promiscuity in the last two stories with Fern. Fern is a black woman whose body is sexualized by other men but she purposefully remains a virgin. While men thought that Ferns eyes said to them that she was easy, really she did not feel obliged to satisfy their needs. Men could not believe that she would not have them and A sort of superstition crept into their consciousness of her being somehow above them. Being above them meant that she was not to be approached by anyone. She became a virgin (Toomer 14). It the story it says that while being a virgin is normal, not wanting to reproduce is not and that black folks were made to mate (Toomer 15). It could be assumed that Fern is portrayed as a Madonna, which would coincide with a line in another one of Toomers stories that mentions a Negress who drew a portrait of a black Madonna on the courthouse wall (Toomer 21). After the narrator spend time with Fern, he breaks down the real Fern who ended up fainting in his arms. The men in the town hear about this and the narrator is given dirty looks because they felt he had in some way threatened their black Madonna. Toomer uses vivid images of the landscape in the story. At the end, he connects Fern with the detailed landscape. Toomers next story Esther, is a about a black girl who looks like a little white child (Toomer 20). Through the story Esther badly wants to associate herself to the black culture but finds it hard because she is lighter and her dad is the richest black person in town. Esther in not portrayed as a black temptress like in the other stories in Cane; she is considered not attractive. Esther dreams of being accepted into the black culture. In one, she dreams there is a fire in the town which could be seen as a metaphor for her desire. When the fire starts the women scoot in all directions leaving Esther with a baby who is Black, signed, woolly, tobacco-juice baby-ugly as sin. Once held to her breast, miraculous thing: its breath is sweet and its lips can nibble (Toomer 22). This can be interpreted as Esther thinking that she needs a dark skinned baby to feel less light skinned. While the people in her dream might see the baby as ugly, she sees it as her bond to darker skin, forgetting her own color. Esther knows that men do not notice her and even says I dont appeal to them. I wonder why (Toomer 22). This is when her obsession with a black man named Barlo begins because it helps her forget she is lighter. She wants to offer herself to Barlo so she will be able to conceive her dark skinned child she had dreamed of, thus becoming more darkened. When Barlo returns to town she seeks to meet him face to face to give her body to him which does not turn out well as he recognizes her lighter skin tone. With the failed disappointment Esther tells herself The thought comes suddenly, that conception with a drunken man must be a mighty sin (Toomer 25). Her dreams to reproduce with Barlo failed, she becomes completely disembodied. At the end of this story, the town disappears along with her dreams. While the men in African American culture tried so hard to get away from the view that white people had, believing black people to be over sexualized beings, Toomer portrayed his black women just as that. While there has been a social stigma surrounding the false belief that African American women are over sexualized, some of the stories such as Karintha, Carma, and Fern do nothing to discredit that belief. Granted, this was not a stronger theme in these stories that lynching or slavery was. That being said, the Harlem Renaissance period was a time when white people had started to notice African American art and Toomer tried to accurately display the real lives of African Americans in Cane.

In this new era, important marketing areas such as regulation, environment, product, competition in the market, and delivery of product can no longer be overlooked. II. What is Marketing and Its Role in the Success of Financial Institutions? What is marketing? According to the American Marketing Association, marketing is the ââ¬Å"performance of business activities that direct the flow of goods and services from producer to consumer or user.â⬠In the context of the financial institution, marketing is defined as the ââ¬Å"creation and delivery of customer-satisfying services as a profit to the bank or financial institution.â⬠(McMahon, 1986). With further examination of the previously stated definition, it can be seen that marketing is looked upon as 1) an active process (therefore, ongoing with endless possibilities), with 2) a direct focus on the customer or consumer.
